University of Colorado and University of Vermont
Under two Exclusive License Agreements, Viral Genetics has obtained exclusive worldwide rights to technology developed by Dr. M. Karen Newell-Rogers and her team in the areas of Targeted Peptides (TPT) and Metabolic Disruption (MDT). The exclusive licenses are with the University of Colorado and with the University of Vermont through Institutional Agreements.
The licenses grant to Viral Genetics exclusive rights to study, develop and commercialize the underlying technology behind TPT and MDT in any and all diseases or “fields of use” worldwide. This license replaces earlier versions in which the Company had exclusive rights only to certain limited diseases, and options on others. As a result of the successful research program and efforts by Dr. Newell-Rogers and Viral Genetics, the licenses were expanded to their present scope.
Under the terms and conditions of the licenses, the specifics of which are considered proprietary and confidential, Viral Genetics is obligated to make certain payments for research and development, patent cost reimbursement, royalties and other fees upon reaching certain milestones in the development of the TPT and MDT technologies relating to their clinical development.
